Job Description

As a social pedagogue, your main task is to promote students' all-round personal development so that they have the opportunity to develop into active, creative, competent, and responsible individuals. By actively working with the school's value base, the aim is to anchor respect for human rights and society's fundamental democratic values. The equal value of all people and solidarity between people are values that the school should convey.

In the role of social pedagogue, you work closely with the students to increase safety in the various social situations the students encounter at school. Together with the student health service staff, you work to promote health. You identify students who risk being marginalized, but also collaborate with external agencies such as the police and social services when necessary.

We believe that learning and health go hand in hand, and positive mentorship that strengthens students' strengths is a success factor for how well students achieve knowledge goals. You also work continuously with attendance-promoting tasks and monitor students who risk not reaching the goals or receiving grades from subject teachers, creating action plans as needed. We believe in positive collaboration with guardians, and you will have continuous communication with them. Additionally, health-promoting work against drugs, tobacco, and alcohol is included to create safety and security at the unit.

Your task is to work for a safe and social school climate, which means you are easily accessible to students and staff. It is part of your assignment to spend time where students are present during school hours at breaks and free periods, for example in corridors, the cafeteria, and the student lounge. A positive attitude and good social skills that help you capture students' interests lead to well-being and security for the students.

Qualifications

• Trained social pedagogue, social worker, or other education assessed by the employer as suitable for the assignment.
• Enjoy working in a team and strive for common goals.
• Communicative and clear, with the ability to listen actively to understand others' perspectives and give and receive constructive feedback.

In the adapted upper secondary school, our goal is to prepare students for adult life after school. We place great emphasis on every student developing as far as possible and getting a good foundation to participate actively in society. We have a high staff density that is based on each student's needs and prerequisites. The staff is well-educated and has long experience with the student group. Teaching takes place in small groups, and schoolwork is done both independently and together with others.

The school is located in the middle of nature on Rosenholm with good bus connections, approximately 10 minutes from Karlskrona center. In the immediate vicinity, there is the NKT Arena with sports halls, ice rinks, and our cafeteria is also located there.
