Nurse for Orthopedic Clinic and Ward in Gävle

At the orthopedic clinic in Gävle, we treat patients with orthopedic diseases and injuries. We perform assessments, plan surgeries, conduct follow-ups, and provide treatment. The clinic is open during daytime hours on weekdays.

The orthopedic ward provides acute care, planned surgery, and day surgery services. Currently, the ward consists of 26 care beds, organized into care teams with nurses and nursing assistants.

The position is primarily located at the orthopedic clinic, but includes a 20 percent rotation to the orthopedic ward, giving you the opportunity to further broaden your skills.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you will work with both planned and acute orthopedic care, becoming a vital part of the patient's path to recovery. The work is varied and developmental, and you are expected to participate in improvement and development work both at the clinic and the ward.

As a nurse at the clinic, you will work with among other things:

• Telephone advice
• Planning and booking of clinic visits
• Handling of digital healthcare cases via 1177 and Clinic24
• Clinic work with patient assessments

As a nurse at the ward, you will work with among other things:

• Care of the orthopedic patient in close collaboration with various professions
• Preventive care, pain relief, documentation, medication management, and contributing to the development of care for the orthopedic patient
• Identifying risks and implementing measures based on the nursing process

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, we also see that you have good cooperation skills, are receptive, and communicate well with others. Since the work may involve making quick decisions, the ability to lead and collaborate is important.

In the role of a nurse, you must:

• Be a licensed nurse
• Be able to communicate freely in Swedish, both orally and in writing

For this position, it is meritorious if you have experience in orthopedics and/or clinic work, as well as experience with our medical record system, Cosmic.
