Surgical Department in Gävle

The Surgical Department in Gävle consists of three inpatient wards, including Surgical Ward 112K, as well as a surgical outpatient clinic and an endoscopy clinic. Specialists in urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, and endocrine surgery work here.

Surgical Ward 112K has 18 beds, where we care for a broad spectrum of patients within ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), vascular surgery, and upper gastrointestinal surgery. We collaborate closely with other units within the Surgical Department. Here, you will gain a solid foundation in the nursing profession and have the opportunity to develop within the field of surgery, for example, as a specialist nurse.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you are offered a rewarding and continuously developing job within one of healthcare's most exciting fields, working with both acute and planned patients. You lead your care team and coordinate medical and nursing-related issues in a team with doctors, other nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. As support, you also have the unit's specialist nurse and care planner.

The care team is responsible for six patients. In addition to daily work in the care team, you are expected to contribute to the unit's development work and our shared work environment.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Blood sampling
• Management of various drains
• Advanced wound care
• Negative pressure therapy/VAC therapy
• Tracheostomy care/Provox care

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You must be a licensed nurse.
