We are now looking for a Short Term Trader for an exciting assignment within Operations Decentral Solutions as well as Delivery & Project Management – Process IT in Malmö.

About the role
This assignment is part of our staffing service. You will be employed by Professionals Nord and work as a consultant for E.ON for an initial period of 12 months. The intention is that you may eventually be hired directly by E.ON, provided all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.
In the role of Short Term Trader, you will work with daily trading on the spot markets for electricity and gas, focusing on short-term trading for delivery on the same or following day. The work is characterized by rapid decisions where the market is influenced by the balance between production, consumption, as well as import and export – with weather factors such as temperature, wind, and precipitation as key drivers.
You will work with balance responsibility and balancing services in Sweden and Denmark, as well as forecasting customer consumption and production. The role also involves developing digital and automated decision support systems to improve forecasting, optimization, and trading.
The assignment involves shift work, with work possible on all days of the year, including on-call duties at night.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Trading on short-term markets for electricity and gas
- Forecasting production and consumption
- Managing balance responsibility and balancing services
- Analyzing market data and weather impacts
- Developing digital and automated decision support systems
- Improving processes and working methods in trading and optimization
We are looking for you who
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and a great interest in the energy market and data. You thrive in a dynamic, high-paced environment and enjoy working closely with others in a team.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- A degree at bachelor's, master's, or PhD level in fields such as technical physics, industrial economics, statistics, mathematics, or meteorology
- A strong interest in data analysis and forecasting
- Good knowledge of Python, R, or Matlab, as well as Excel
- The ability to work carefully and in a structured manner
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience from the energy industry or industrial facilities
- Experience with programming, automation, or IT/OT environments (e.g., SCADA or similar systems)
- Knowledge in IT security or related areas
- Experience trading on the Nordic power market
