Do you want to make a life-saving difference for the health of humans and animals? Come and work with us at the Swedish Medical Products Agency!
Are you curious and interested in technology, with experience in investigative work within the medical technology manufacturing industry? We at the Swedish Medical Products Agency are looking for a new colleague for our safety monitoring within the field of medical technology!
Our Operations
The Swedish Medical Products Agency is tasked with ensuring that medical technology products in Sweden are safe, effective, and suitable for their intended purpose. We operate in an interdisciplinary environment in close collaboration with healthcare, industry, and other authorities in Sweden and Europe. On January 1st this year, a dedicated operational area for medical technology was established, consisting of three units and a support staff. The operational area currently comprises nearly 80 people and covers the agency's responsibility to conduct supervision, support access to medical technology products, provide guidance through knowledge, and develop regulations.
The Supervision and Notified Bodies Unit is responsible for conducting supervision of medical technology products as well as designating and monitoring notified bodies. Supervision is carried out through administrative control, inspections, and safety monitoring.
We are now looking for an investigator for the Safety Monitoring group.
Your Responsibilities
As an investigator, you are responsible for monitoring and following up on the reporting of various types of incidents from manufacturers of medical technology products. This involves reviewing the manufacturer's documentation and assessing any deficiencies in the companies' investigations, risk analyses, corrective and preventive actions. You document and advance cases in close dialogue with colleagues, manufacturers, and, if necessary, other authorities within the EU. If needed, you will also initiate supervisory activities and take measures. The work is performed both individually and in teams.
Your Background
You, the applicant, have:
- an academic degree with technical, scientific, medical, or other education relevant to the position
- current work experience from the manufacturing industry in the field of medical technology or pharmaceuticals
- good experience in investigative work, deviation management, and corrective and preventive actions within the field of medical technology or pharmaceuticals
- good ability to formulate yourself in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English
We would like you to have a background as a QA specialist or equivalent and have good experience working interdisciplinarily both nationally and internationally. Knowledge of medical technology regulations is meritorious, as is experience with product development and post-market surveillance.
Your Personal Attributes
You, the applicant for the investigator position, have a very good ability to understand, analyze, and assess a large amount of information and cases within a broad product area. You have the ability to scope your work, make decisions, and complete what has been started. You can work independently, take initiative, and are proactive in driving cases forward. You focus on the common mission and on achieving impact with your and the group's work, and you collaborate easily with others. You are quality-conscious and have a structured working method that helps you and the group prioritize and plan. You are comfortable communicating with different target groups and can adapt your communication to different contexts. You are curious about new technology, development-oriented, and adapt easily to changed working methods and conditions.
We place great emphasis on personal attributes.
