About the Resource School

Sandviken Municipality's Resource School is a unit within the comprehensive school that offers reception for students with extensive needs within the autism spectrum, who are not considered to be able to be accommodated within the comprehensive school's regular operations.

From the start of the autumn term 2026, we can offer students in grades 1–4 the opportunity to be placed in the Resource School. The school will open temporarily in the premises of Västanbyn School. Västanbyn School is located in the northern outskirts of Sandviken along Road 272, close to the nature area of Högbo Bruk.

The goal in the Resource School, as in the regular comprehensive school, is that all students should receive the right support at the right time. The Resource School can offer special support to students who risk not meeting the grading criteria or assessment criteria required in the regular comprehensive school.

The Position

We are now seeking 2–3 student assistants for the Resource School for employment during the autumn term of 2026. We welcome your application!

Responsibilities

As a student assistant at the Resource School, you work closely with individual students or student groups who are in need of special support during the school day and in after-school activities. The work is carried out in collaboration with teachers and other student assistants. Every student is unique, and your task as a student assistant is to contribute to creating an stimulating learning environment for each one. We also want you to have good leadership skills and the ability to build warm relationships with each student.

You contribute by:

• Being flexible and having a solution-oriented approach to work
• Supporting students in teaching and during after-school activities
• Working with clear pedagogy at group and individual levels
• Using visual aids and digital tools to explain and communicate

We make each other better by:

• Sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues
• Creating a safe and accessible learning environment
• Being sensitive to each student's needs
• Working solution-focused and with great engagement

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who are secure, sensitive, and have an easy time building trust. You have the ability to base your actions on each child's needs and prerequisites. You are a clear leader and an adult role model for the students. You see what needs to be done and take initiative to create a functioning everyday life. Through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians, you contribute to a safe and developmental learning environment.

For the assignment, the following are required:

• Upper secondary school diploma
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written
• Deep interest in students with autism

We would appreciate it if you had knowledge of, and experience working with, students within the autism spectrum. IT competence and experience using digital tools in pedagogical work are also considered advantages.
