Your future challenge

BAE Systems Hägglunds in Örnsköldsvik is currently in an expansion phase due to billion-dollar contracts. To meet the high demand, BAE Systems Hägglunds is now recruiting operational buyers for the operational purchasing function. The department currently consists of 26 proactive and engaged employees.

Operational purchasing is responsible for the procurement of production items for the Operations unit and acts as an interface with the functions of vehicle planning and assembly. The work involves analyzing goals and resource plan proposals, as well as placing orders with suppliers to ensure that the right items are called up at the right time based on agreed lead times.

In the role of buyer, you work with the procurement of incoming materials for ongoing production, i.e., for our delivery projects and our self-manufactured spare parts. This also includes handling complaints and maintaining close contact with, among others, production planners, strategic purchasing, and suppliers. You are responsible for a number of suppliers and ensure that materials are available in production at the right time and in the correct quantities.

Your daily tasks include:

• Analyze and order materials for our products using our business system SAP as support.
• Monitor order acknowledgments and deliveries to ensure they occur on time.
• Follow up with suppliers.
• Reschedule and handle changes to placed orders as needed.
• Handle complaints and dispensation requests to/from suppliers.

The position involves many contact points, giving you a broad network both internally and externally.

The position is a permanent employment with the location in Örnsköldsvik.

The person you are

You are a communicative and driven person with good collaboration skills. You thrive with having many things going on at the same time. You are structured and like to find efficient solutions. Your working style is methodical and systematic, and you make clear prioritizations in your work. We also want you to be interested in driving development and improvement of both yourself and our processes.

We would like you to have a purchasing education from a university college and a few years of experience in purchasing work and business systems such as SAP. A technical background is also a plus.

Good knowledge of the Office package, as well as your ability to express yourself orally and in writing in both Swedish and English, should be very good.
