About the Role

Do you want to work with systems that are central to real-time monitoring and control in business-critical environments? We are now looking for a Senior SCADA Expert with strong programming skills (primarily Java) who wants to take a leading role in developing, improving, and securing our SCADA-related solutions.

In this role, you combine deep SCADA domain knowledge with modern software development. You work both strategically and operationally on solutions related to real-time data, alarm management, visualization, and integrations between SCADA and other systems.

You operate in an environment where the systems are business-critical and require high availability around the clock (24/7). This means that a focus on stability, robustness, and IT security is central to everything you do.

You are expected to contribute with seniority and technical leadership – while also being hands-on in both development, configuration, and implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities include, among other things:

• Drive the development and further development of SCADA-related solutions with clear technical ownership
• Work hands-on with system development in Java as well as configure and adapt SCADA systems
• Participate in and drive parts of SCADA implementation projects, from design to commissioning
• Design and implement integrations and data flows between SCADA and adjacent systems
• Ensure high availability, stable operation, and performance in 24/7 environments
• Identify and manage risks related to IT security, access, and data integrity
• Work with troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis in critical systems
• Participate in IT readiness (on-call) according to schedule
• Contribute to architecture, technical decisions, and best practices

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has strong collaboration skills and thrives working in teams as well as in cross-functional environments. You have experience working in international contexts and are comfortable collaborating across borders. You have strong self-drive, take initiative, and actively contribute to moving the work forward. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and have the ability to see opportunities rather than obstacles – even in more complex situations.

We would like you to have:

• Extensive experience working with SCADA systems, including development, configuration, or implementation
• Strong experience working hands-on in SCADA environments
• Very good knowledge of Java and experience developing business-critical systems
• Experience with integrations and real-time data flows
• Experience working in environments with high availability requirements (24/7)
• Good understanding of IT security in OT environments
• Very good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

Merits:

• Experience with Kafka, streaming, or other real-time solutions
• Experience with cloud technology (e.g., Azure) and container platforms
• Experience with microservice architecture
• Experience with security work within SCADA/OT
• Experience with agile working methods
