We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist for the Health and Medical Care Unit. Here, you will work with patients within the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) framework and become part of an engaged team. We welcome your application!

About the position

As an occupational therapist at our Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE), you create important prerequisites for our patients to live as independent, participatory, and meaningful lives as possible. You work with rehabilitation, activity assessments, training, and prescription of assistive devices for individuals with decisions under the LSS Act. You will work both independently and in teams, and the role offers you varied and stimulating working days.

We operate from our premises on Tegelgatan and travel to our patients by bicycle or car, as well as on foot for those living nearby. Here, you will have nine occupational therapy colleagues who together possess extensive competence, providing you with opportunities to develop in your professional role.

Here you have the opportunity to become part of an engaged work group where your competencies and ideas as an occupational therapist are valued!

Examples of tasks:

  • Investigate, plan, implement, and evaluate individual rehabilitation measures and needs for adjustments in the patient's physical and social environment.
  • Prescribe and trial both simple and technically advanced assistive devices, e.g., cognitive, mobility, and care aids.
  • Educate and supervise nursing staff and occupational therapy students.
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and relatives, and motivate patients to achieve their own goals.
  • Collaborate with other professions to create individual care plans.
  • Document in various quality registers and operational systems.

About the workplace

The Health and Medical Care Unit is based in central premises at Tegelgatan 1–3 in Örebro. The unit consists of nurses, assistant nurses, occupational therapists, administrators, and unit managers. We work in teams and support each other with the patient in focus. You are welcomed by a friendly work group with much laughter and good mutual support, who are keen on helping you integrate into the team.

The Health and Medical Care Unit is organized within the Social Administration's area of Care and Welfare. The operations include care and welfare, preventive activities, authority exercises in the area, as well as housing placement and home adaptations. Within the area of Care and Welfare, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or welfare.

Naturally, you always provide good treatment that leads to creating trusting relationships. You are secure and stable as a person and can independently plan and prioritize your work. We also believe that you adapt easily to changed circumstances, as days do not always go as planned. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language to a degree that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document as required by the operations. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • Licensed occupational therapist.
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission.

Merits:

  • Experience working as an occupational therapist.
