About the School

Emmaskolan is a charming small primary school located in the village of Dokkas in the rural area of Gällivare Municipality. The school covers preschool class, after-school center, and grades 1–6. The school has approximately 50 students from Dokkas and the surrounding villages. The school has easy access to large natural areas used in all student activities. Emmaskolan is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!" We want to give students knowledge and the ability to learn so they can create their own future. We constantly develop our teaching and learning environments to give students the best possible conditions for learning.

Job Responsibilities

The position is permanent and full-time (100%). You will be employed as a teacher, permanently if you are certified, otherwise for fixed terms according to the Education Act. You are responsible for teaching in grades F–3, based on your qualifications. You are part of a work team and are responsible for all students' learning together with the other educators in the team. You are the responsible mentor for a group of students. We distribute services across all grades based on certification and adapt the distribution of teaching according to your qualifications. There is an opportunity to combine with other subjects and adjust the working hours.

Qualifications

Teacher's degree with qualifications for grades F–3. We are looking for you who have a present and attentive approach to students' different needs, are a clear leader, have good subject knowledge, and have good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and have an easy time taking your own initiatives. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working.

In the context of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time 100%. Permanent position. Probation may be applied if necessary.

Salary

Monthly salary. Individual salary setting.
