Treatment Pedagogue (Night Shift) at Nederhuset, Hagen Treatment Home
Owned by municipalities – driven by commitment! For 25 years, Gryning has offered residential care (HVB) and open care for children, youth, and families, emergency and foster homes, addiction care, supported apartments, interventions against honor-based violence and oppression, as well as LSS housing. We offer counseling and education and assist with placements. Gryning is owned by the municipalities in Västra Götaland through four municipal associations.
Hagen Treatment Home is located in Kullavik, 2 miles south of Gothenburg, and has two treatment units: Överhuset (7 places for youth aged 14–18) and Nederhuset (6 places for children/youth aged 9–14), with 24-hour operations. Hagen’s treatment units admit both boys and girls, with placements made under the Social Services Act and the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young People (LVU).
We are currently seeking three treatment pedagogues for night shifts at Nederhuset. This is a permanent position at 78.16% with a start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply.
Job Responsibilities
What does the role entail?
We work from a milieu-therapeutic approach. As a treatment pedagogue on night duty, your responsibilities include care and supervision of the young people. Evening and night shifts focus on maintaining safety, calm, and security. You will be a stable adult presence available in the evenings and nights for anyone who feels worried or sad.
At Hagen, we have sleeping on-call staff, whom you will work alongside. The awake night staff member has primary responsibility for any incidents that occur after the sleeping staff has gone to bed. If necessary, the sleeping staff will be woken up. You may need to handle acute situations, such as absconding incidents and medical visits. As a treatment pedagogue on night duty, you must document in our documentation system. The role also includes practical and administrative tasks, such as cleaning during the night.
Qualifications
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with at least a two-year post-secondary education, or equivalent, with a focus on social work, social pedagogy, or behavioral science. Experience working with children and young people in vulnerable life situations, as well as good knowledge of relevant legislation, is advantageous.
We seek someone who is stable and secure, with the ability to create calm and safety. You are responsible, possess personal maturity, and have good self-awareness. Personal suitability is of great importance.
A valid Category B driver’s license is required, as the role may involve travel.
