About Us

Villa Pauli is an international family members' club located by the water in Djursholm – a place where gastronomy, community, and cross-generational meetings are at the center.

In May 2026, a major expansion of 1,600 sqm will be completed. The investment includes a new bar and restaurant concept, a pool area with a rooftop terrace, a tennis court, new hotel suites, and the Villa Pauli Wellness Club with spa and gym.

We are now looking for an experienced and driven Sous Chef who wants to lead our kitchen team and contribute to the continued development of our gastronomic operations.

Our gastronomic profile is strongly rooted in Nordic ingredients, traditions, and approaches, with inspiration from Mediterranean food culture and cooking techniques from around the world. Good, flavorful food cooked from scratch is always the focus.

Villa Pauli, once the family home of Anna and Albert Pauli, is today a gathering place where families connect across generations. Whether for work, relaxation, or socializing, Villa Pauli combines the elegance of a members' club with the feeling of home.

Facilities

Villa Pauli is located just 15–20 minutes from central Stockholm and offers a restaurant and bar, private lounges, conference rooms, and hotel rooms. With the 2026 expansion, its position as a year-round destination for gastronomy, sports, wellness, and social life will be further strengthened.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you are part of the kitchen's management team and work closely with the Head Chef and other Sous Chefs to ensure high quality, efficient operations, and an inspiring work environment.

You have operational leadership in the kitchen and are responsible for leading the team during service, developing working methods, and ensuring that the operations maintain the high standard that Villa Pauli strives for.

The operations include breakfast, lunch, dinner, events, conferences, and private functions, implying a varied and dynamic work environment where no two days are alike.

Responsibilities

  • Operational leadership and distribution of work in the kitchen during service
  • Ensure high quality, presentation, and taste of all dishes
  • Responsible for daily planning, production, and staffing together with the Head Chef
  • Introduce, train, and develop kitchen staff
  • Ensure that routines for hygiene, self-control, and food safety are followed
  • Work actively with order, structure, and efficiency in the kitchen
  • Contribute to menu development, concept development, and seasonal adaptation of the offering
  • Responsible for orders, inventory management, and waste control within assigned areas
  • Collaborate with the restaurant's other departments to create a world-class guest experience
  • Be a role model for the team through present, engaged, and professional leadership
  • Work according to schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Cook, or other leading role in a restaurant kitchen
  • Experience from quality-driven à la carte operations
  • Good knowledge of ingredient handling, cooking, and kitchen operations
  • Experience in leading and developing employees
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English
  • Strong sense for quality, details, and structure
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player
  • Positive attitude, high work ethic, and a genuine interest in food, drink, and leadership
