About the role and your responsibilities

As an electrician for the operation and maintenance of street lighting in Lund Municipality, you, together with the foreman, other electricians, and the operations engineer, are responsible for maintaining a reliable street lighting system. The tasks involve planning, implementation, and follow-up of various measures within the lighting system. The role includes being on call.

You will also assist in other operations managed by the unit. To plan the operations strategically in a systematic way, we are working on improving and developing the unit digitally.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education in electricity, or alternatively a vocational college or university education with a focus on electricity/power engineering, or equivalent experience that the employer considers relevant. We would like you to have worked a few years in the profession and have had corresponding duties and experience with customer contact, service, and technical competence in electrical installations. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B-category driver's license for manual transmission is required.

It is meritorious if you have ESA training, a C-category driver's license, training in working on roads, training in hot work, and lift training.

As a person, you are responsible and structured, and you understand the importance of documenting your work carefully. You are collaborative and have a good ability to independently plan and prioritize your daily work, even in pressured situations. You see potential for improvement in the operations and are happy to contribute ideas and help further develop your own way of working.

About the workplace

The Street Unit is part of the Department of Streets, Parks, and Nature, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of public spaces as well as nature and recreational areas in Lund Municipality.

We are 30 people at the Street Unit working with road maintenance, operation and maintenance of streets and pedestrian/cycle paths, handling excavation permits, cleaning and winter road maintenance, street lighting, traffic signals, parking permits, traffic arrangement plans, land use permits, bridge structures, as well as error reports and comment handling. Lund Municipality has also received a completely new mode of transport, the tram line between Lund and ESS, which we operate and maintain.

We at the Street Unit work together to develop the operations and Lund Municipality. The unit is characterized by broad competence and a team spirit built on trust and joy. Development issues are important to us, with the goal of further strengthening Lund as an attractive municipality to live and work in. We continuously work on improvements in work processes in collaboration with internal and external actors.
