Then the role of a mobile school psychologist may be right for you. In this role, you encounter different school environments and needs, providing a varied and meaningful assignment where no two days are alike.

In this role, you work independently but in close collaboration with a strong professional network consisting of approximately forty school psychologists and a team of mobile colleagues. Here, there are good opportunities to both receive support and contribute your own expertise in joint development and knowledge sharing.

The role also offers continuous development opportunities through structured induction, recurring professional meetings, supervision, and close support regarding patient safety issues. Overall, this creates a work environment where you can fully utilize your competence, feel secure in your assignment, and continue to develop in your professional role – while contributing to strengthening student health services at several schools. This position is a fixed-term contract with an start date of 2026-08-17 until 2027-04-02.

The primary school division has organized a support structure within the Unit for Quality and Student Health, tasked with supporting and developing student health services at the schools. As part of this, long-term work is conducted to ensure sustainable staffing for the schools' local student health teams.

Description of Duties

As a centrally employed school psychologist, you support schools during temporary needs, such as during sick leave, recruitment periods, or peak workloads. You may work with one or several schools for a limited period. The work is varied and involves several simultaneous interventions planned and implemented based on identified needs at different schools. You work on behalf of the principal at the school unit.

The position primarily consists of two parts: assignments as a mobile school psychologist and as a retained school psychologist. The role implies a combination of shorter, need-driven interventions and longer, more continuous assignments at individual schools.

The mobile part of the position consists of time-limited and clearly defined interventions. The assignments can be urgent and serve as a short-term solution where you step in to perform tasks that would otherwise be handled by permanent staff. The assignment primarily involves psychological assessments, for example, in cases of suspected intellectual disability (ID) or prior to referral to external healthcare providers. The assignment ends when the intervention is completed. The purpose is to ensure that schools can carry out necessary psychological interventions even in unforeseen events, such as absence or temporarily high workloads.

Part of the position may also involve a longer-term assignment as a retained school psychologist at one or several specific schools for an extended period. During this time, you become part of the school's student health service and participate in ongoing student health work at the organizational, group, and individual levels, with a special focus on promoting and preventive measures.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in psychology; it is meritorious if you are a licensed psychologist. In change, you adapt easily to altered circumstances. Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship.
