Project Coordinator with role as Regulatory Investigator – Regional Biobank Centre Central Sweden
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
The Regional Biobank Centre (RBC) Central Sweden is an administrative service and competence centre for biobank issues within the healthcare region. RBC is currently in an exciting phase of development as the government has decided to strengthen the conditions for clinical trials. In light of this, we are expanding our staffing and are now seeking an additional project coordinator with the role of regulatory investigator for clinical trials and performance studies.
RBC works with overarching and common healthcare regional issues affected by the Biobank Act and serves as a support to the seven regions of the healthcare region and their biobank activities. We work together with many different roles and functions, and the overarching goal is to improve care, diagnostics, and treatment. RBC has a central task to review biobank applications and provide statements to the Medical Products Agency and the Ethical Review Authority regarding clinical trials and performance studies. RBC Central Sweden is an important part of Biobank Sweden, which is a national infrastructure for biobanking. Read more about Biobank Sweden here (https://biobanksverige.se/ (https://biobanksverige.se/)).
RBC is organizationally part of the operations of the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) Central Sweden. RCC Central Sweden has approximately 60 employees, six of whom work for RBC. Our workplace has a strong sense of community where collaboration is important and joy in work unites us. Our working language is Swedish, and we are located in central Uppsala Science Park, where we work in modern office premises. There is an opportunity to work remotely for part of the time when the tasks allow.
Your Role
As a project coordinator, you combine administrative skill and structure with a good ability to collaborate with other people. You will work with the investigation and review of biobank applications, primarily for clinical trials and performance studies. You will also work with regulatory advice, as well as education, development, and quality work. As a project coordinator, there will also be opportunities to be responsible for and lead projects and assignments both at the healthcare regional and national levels. The assignments are adapted to the needs of the operations and can have different focuses and scopes. A key part of RBC is to collaborate with external partners. We work together with colleagues within regions, healthcare, universities, authorities, and industry, which means you will have a central role with many contact points.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree from a university or university college within healthcare, medicine, pharmacy, natural sciences, or another relevant field.
- Experience in project management and/or project coordination.
- A good ability to express yourself well and use clear and factual communication in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in providing support and service within public operations or industry.
- Experience in qualified administrative work, such as investigations, decision support, or statements.
- Experience in research or research-supporting activities.
- Education at the doctoral level, preferably PhD in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of biobanks and clinical trials.
- Experience in practical work within healthcare and/or clinical research.
- Experience in working within organizations undergoing development processes.
- Education in project management and/or leadership.
During this recruitment, great importance will be placed on personal suitability. To succeed in the tasks, you need to be communicative, clear, factual, professional, and quality-conscious. You have the ability to collaborate successfully with people who have different roles and positions within different organizations. It is important that you are stable and service-oriented in your approach to work. The tasks also require that you are self-reliant, can make well-founded decisions, and have a good ability for structured work where you organize and prioritize work efficiently.
