We are expanding with a new Economic Controller with statistical responsibility. The role will, among other things, be responsible for coordinating and producing the municipality's long-term economic forecasts, contributing to the development of the municipality's goals and budget, interim reports, and annual accounts. The statistical responsibility includes producing population forecasts, statistical analyses, and analyzing key performance indicators.

Job Description
As an Economic Controller at the Economy and Control Department, you will work both strategically and operationally with financial management. You will play a key role in coordinating the municipality's budget work, follow-up, analysis, and reporting. The position provides important support and involves close collaboration with the municipal executive board, managers, and elected decision-makers.
The Finance Department works with all departments and committees; the role is broad but primarily directed towards the Municipal Executive Board's operations and the overarching level.
The duties include, among other things:
- Contribute to the coordination and production of the municipal budget and forecasts
- Coordinate and produce the municipality's interim reports and annual accounts
- Support managers in financial and development work
- Budget and follow-up work, as well as preparing matters for political bodies
- Conduct statistical analyses, projections (population forecasts), and other types of decision support
- Monitor key performance indicators, quality, and resource usage
- Support municipal operational departments in business planning, follow-up, and financial control
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university or college degree with a focus on economics, statistics, or equivalent. You have experience in qualified financial work. The job requires an interest in working in a politically governed/public organization.
You are analytical, structured, and have the ability to see the big picture. You thrive working independently but also in close collaboration with others. One of your strengths is presenting complex information in a pedagogical and user-adapted manner.
You are solution-focused, communicative, and have a genuine interest in contributing to the public good. You adapt easily to changed conditions and are flexible in your working methods. At the same time, you are goal- and result-oriented, with the ability to translate strategies into concrete actions and drive the work forward towards set goals.
Knivsta Municipality works in the financial system Unit4 ERP (Agresso) and is now implementing the FP&A tool Planacy. You have good IT competence in, for example, Excel and PowerPoint.
- University education in economics and statistics, public administration, or similar
- Experience as an Economic Controller, preferably from a municipality or region
- Very good knowledge of the Office package, statistical tools, and experience with decision support systems
Terms of Employment
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
