The Role of Unit Manager

As a Unit Manager in our operations, you are offered varied tasks in a clear leadership role. You lead in a context together with other managers within Meal and Near Service where we have common forums and a common mission: to support care and social services with food, facility maintenance, and patient-proximity tasks. The operations create security, care, and quality in the daily life of care.

You have an overall responsibility for customer care and administrative tasks, the operation's production, and distribution of both patient meals and restaurant food. Our operations are highly dependent on an efficient organization, and you are expected to create the best solutions to contribute to both cost-efficiency and meeting our customers' high demands on delivery service.

You are responsible for the production in the central kitchen, which produces patient food, restaurant lunches, as well as production for Qulturum and the region's agricultural schools. The operation should be characterized by satisfied customers and satisfied employees who deliver a high and consistent quality of meals and service. You are responsible for reporting results every month and suggesting and initiating improvements.

You are also part of the group of unit managers within meals and have three managerial colleagues there, as well as support from three meal developers. Together, you have the mission to collaborate and develop region-wide processes.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with access according to agreement. The location is in Jönköping, but travel within the county may occur, hence a driver's license is a requirement.

Your Profile

You have a university-level education, likely in nutrition or alternatively organization and leadership. We also see that you have previous experience of management and leadership. It is meritorious with previous work in a managerial position in the large-scale kitchen industry, but it is not a requirement. If you have previous experience of major change processes, we see this as positive. In this recruitment, we also value your leadership qualities and your communicative ability.

As a Unit Manager, you will have personnel and result responsibility, which requires the ability to lead and motivate staff to a well-functioning unit with the right competence among your employees.

As a person, you are structured, clear, and take responsibility for ensuring that Region Jönköping County's and the meal operation's short- and long-term goals in all perspectives are pursued and maintained. You are a trustworthy and present leader who includes others and feels secure in your own decision-making. Through knowledge, sensitivity, and your communicative ability, you create a work climate that forms the basis for participation and influence. You collaborate and cooperate so that your operation as a whole becomes as good as possible, as well as the whole of the meal operation and Region Jönköping County.
