Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand business. Together, we share a common vision: a changed world where children's dreams come to life.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights in 16 countries.

In Sweden, children's rights work is primarily carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our second-hand stores. In total, we operate around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand stores in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand's missions is to generate as much surplus as possible for the children's rights organization Erikshjälpen.

Do you want to lead international work that makes a real difference in children's lives?

Erikshjälpen is now looking for an engaged and strategic Program Director who wants to drive and develop global work for children's rights. In this key role, you will have the opportunity to influence operations in several regions and help shape the future of an organization that works every day to give children around the world a better future.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for personnel, economy, and operations for Erikshjälpen's international program department, as well as the regional offices in East Africa, West Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. The personnel responsibility includes direct line management of regional directors, unit managers, and support functions at the headquarters.
  • Overall responsibility for current change processes, quality assurance, and strategy development within the international department.
  • Overall responsibility for policy, methodology, and learning work within the international program operations.
  • Member of Erikshjälpen's management group and reports to the Secretary General.
  • Travel to regional offices, partner organizations, and operations supported by Erikshjälpen is also part of the assignment.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a university degree in development issues, global studies, human rights, or another equivalent education deemed relevant for the assignment.
  • You have experience in international development cooperation.
  • You have experience in children's rights, aid, and a rights-based approach.
  • You have several years of experience in personnel management and leading through managers.
  • You have experience in change and development work, as well as a good cultural understanding.
  • You have an interest in international issues and staying updated on the world around you.
  • You have very good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
  • You lead others through clear delegation and communication of mandates and responsibilities. You have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You have excellent teamwork skills and are good at building relationships.
  • You are clear as a leader and manager and drive the organization forward.
  • You contribute to developing Erikshjälpen's entire organization and work together with the rest of the management group.
  • We assume that you share Erikshjälpen's Christian value base.

Conditions
