We are now looking for a Specialist in Psychiatry for clinics 4 and 5 in Karlstad.
Your workplace
Psychiatric Outpatient Care Karlstad is centrally located and is part of the Area for Psychiatric Specialties. The psychiatric outpatient care sector consists of the county's psychiatric outpatient clinics, as well as an eating disorders clinic, a clinic for emotional instability, the LARO (Long-Acting Antipsychotic) clinic, and a dedicated ST (Specialist Training) doctor unit.
Psychiatric Outpatient Care Karlstad/Lagergrensgatan 2 and 4 consists of four equivalent clinics with patient distribution based on date of birth. The clinics are temporarily located in the inner harbour of Karlstad. Our mission is to provide specialist psychiatric care and treatment for patients with moderate to severe psychiatric conditions, as well as other general psychiatric disorders.
The operations in Karlstad cover an area of approximately 140,000 inhabitants and include the municipalities of Karlstad, Hammarö, Kil, and Forshaga.
At the clinics, we have physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, doctors, care assistants, occupational therapists, healthcare administrators, and one unit manager per clinic.

The development work is employee-driven based on the "Modern Area" model and takes place in collaboration with Magnus Lord.
Your responsibilities
The main responsibilities for you as a doctor with us are psychiatric treatment work, such as psychiatric assessment/basic investigation and medical treatment. You will meet with your medical colleagues within psychiatric outpatient and inpatient care one afternoon per month and participate in cross-operational forums with the management.
We have cross-professional treatment conferences where all professions participate, and you as a doctor will also participate here. We have daily rounds where nurses and doctors participate. You supervise medical students, ST/AT/BT (specialist training) as needed, as well as the rest of the team in medical matters, and serve as a support to the unit manager in medical prioritizations. You participate in development work based on research and evidence-based care to develop care at the clinic with the patient's best interests at the center.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for you who are a licensed Specialist in Psychiatry.
You have a strong patient focus and work with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach. As a person, you are proactive, stable, and have a good ability to adapt your interaction to the situation and individual.
Together with the rest of the team, you take responsibility for maintaining high patient safety and quality in care. We place great emphasis on personal suitability as well as your ability to communicate and collaborate with both colleagues and other stakeholders.
