About the Education Administration

The Education Administration is responsible for the education of children, young people, and adults in Eda Municipality. Together with our approximately 250 employees, we work based on the owner's vision "Everyone shall succeed." The Education Administration is responsible for all forms of activity within the education sector – from preschool, primary school, and cultural school to upper secondary and adult education. The operations are conducted on behalf of the Education Board and are based on our ten mutual expectations that describe how we should act, be perceived, and relate to each other in daily interactions between employees, children, students, and guardians.

Job Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you work from a health-promoting, preventive, and supportive perspective where the connection between health, learning, and goal achievement is central. You are an important part of the Student Health Service's Medical Intervention (EMI) and contribute medical competence to the student health service's work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

The assignment includes planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on the student health service's medical interventions according to current legislation and guidelines. You conduct health visits, health conversations, health checks, and vaccinations, as well as offer counseling and support to students and guardians.

You actively work to identify and pay attention to early signs of physical and mental ill health, and contribute at the school level to creating a safe, accessible, and health-promoting school environment throughout the student's school day. An important part of the assignment is to strengthen the school's health-promoting and preventive work at the group and organizational levels.

You contribute medical perspectives to the school's systematic quality work and collaborate with school leadership, student health services, and pedagogical staff to develop health-promoting learning environments. You are also expected to collaborate with teachers and support teaching in areas such as mental health and well-being, the importance of sleep for health and learning, ANDTS (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco, and gambling), and work to promote good living habits, physical activity, and recovery.

Furthermore, you collaborate with guardians and external actors such as healthcare, social services, habilitation, and other actors when the student's needs require it.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a specialist degree in healthcare for children and adolescents, district nurse education, or another specialist education that the employer deems equivalent. You have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good digital competence.

It is meritorious if you have experience working as a school nurse, child and adolescent health care, or student health work. Experience in health-promoting and preventive work with children and young people, as well as knowledge of medical record systems within the Student Health Service's Medical Intervention, is also seen as meritorious. We also value experience in collaboration between schools, healthcare, and social services.

To succeed in the role, you need to be confident in your profession and have a genuine commitment to the health, development, and learning of children and young people. You easily build trusting relationships and meet students, guardians, and colleagues with respect, sensitivity, and professionalism.

You work independently, structured, and take responsibility for planning and prioritizing your work, while also having good collaboration skills and enjoying working in a team. You have the ability to see connections between health, learning, and the school environment, are solution-focused, and see opportunities in collaboration. Furthermore, you have high integrity and a professional attitude in your work with students, guardians, and partners.
