About Us
Civitas Assistans was founded to offer something unique within personal assistance in Dalarna: a warm, family-like, yet professional alternative. Those of us who work here have extensive experience in assistance, both privately and professionally. As a personal assistant with us, you will be a key person in someone's life. Therefore, we take our role as employers seriously. With us, you get not just a job, but a context where you can grow, influence, and feel valued. The contact person assigned to you has personal experience from working as an assistant and thus has a greater understanding of both your and the client's situation.
We run Civitas Assistans with a clear vision: that every client should feel seen, heard, and 100% secure.
Welcome to apply so you can become one of us.
Do you want meaningful work?
Now I am looking for you who want to work as a casual substitute in my assistance. With me, you will become not just an important person in daily life – you will also become a source of security, a pillar of support, and an appreciated part of my life.
Who am I?
I am a happy, charming, and curious 15-year-old boy who loves discovering the world and the people around me. I live in Sundborn with my family and our cat, and I go to school in Falun.
I have, among other things, cerebral palsy (CP), deafblindness, and an intellectual disability. This means I need a secure and present person by my side to be able to live my life fully, feel included, and have a functional and meaningful everyday life. As a personal assistant with me, you will have a very important role – both for me and for my family.
My deafblindness means that I have a great need for support in communication, both to understand others and to be able to make myself understood. I also need help to be able to experience and explore the world in different ways. I am a boy who loves life and wants to be where the action is.
In everyday life, I also need support with, among other things, motor training, personal hygiene, and meals.
Who am I looking for?
I am looking for you who are flexible, secure, responsible, proactive, and have great patience. You are preferably inventive and can meet both fast-paced moments and calmer days with the same warmth and engagement. I enjoy mischief, adventure, and activity – but also cozy and quiet moments. One day it might be about speed and excitement, the next about hanging out on the sofa and presence. The most important thing is that you enjoy working close to people and feel joy in being part of contributing to my development, my security, and my quality of life.
Currently, a nice team of assistants already works with me who brighten up my everyday life in different ways. Now I hope that you specifically want to become part of our team.
If you have experience with sign language, sign language, or tactile communication, it is a big plus, but it is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you are curious, receptive, and willing to learn my very own way of communicating.
About the position
I need assistance around the clock, which means that as an assistant, you work days, evenings, and awake nights – both weekdays and weekends.
To be eligible for the position, you need to:
- Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Be a non-smoker
- Have a B driver's license and access to a car to get to and from work
- Tolerate cats, as there is a cat in the family
- Be able to provide a police certificate (register extract)
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working as a personal assistant
- Experience with sign language, sign language, or tactile communication
