Job Description

As a cook, you are offered a developing role where you prepare tasty, safe, and healthy meals for our patients at Östra Hospital and Kungälv Hospital. Together with your colleagues, you help ensure that the residents of Västra Götaland are met with a well-functioning healthcare and care system.

In this position, you will primarily work in our lunch restaurant at Östra Hospital, which is open to both healthcare staff and external visitors. The work as a cook is varied, and you will be involved in everything from daily planning and preparation of meals and special diets to responsibility for follow-up and self-control. Your competence will be an important part of the development work for sustainable meal production.

The work is scheduled during daytime, Monday to Sunday. As we are a large team, a rotating schedule is applied, meaning start and end times vary depending on the weekly schedule.

To contribute to good service in the role of cook, you need:

• have a strong commitment and interest in food
• be meticulous and responsible
• have a good attitude and work well together with others
• be flexible and have the ability to switch between different tasks

We are looking for you with a completed upper secondary education in restaurant and food, or equivalent education, and at least three years of experience working as a cook in a lunch restaurant. You thrive in a service-oriented role and appreciate meeting guests. Furthermore, you have experience with personalized meal solutions and knowledge of food allergies. You are accustomed to working with conceptual cooking via recipes and have a creative ability to utilize overproduced food/meals.

You can communicate fluently in Swedish in dialogue with colleagues and customers, as well as follow oral and written work instructions. Furthermore, you have the physical capacity required to walk and stand throughout the workday, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Naturally, you have current knowledge of food hygiene and understand the importance of performing the work with high quality.

Previous experience of working in a large kitchen with distribution, as well as experience with allergies and special diets, is meritorious.
