Do you want to be part of developing tomorrow's digital services for residents, employees, and operations? We are now looking for a developer to join our digital team at the Communications Unit. Here, you will work in a small, cross-functional team where technology, communication, and user experience meet to create modern and user-friendly digital solutions.

Your Responsibilities

You will work in a team of five people, jointly responsible for the city's digital communication channels and services. You will become the team's technical specialist, complementing colleagues with expertise in communication, web, and content. You will support each other and work closely together to create the best possible solutions.

In this role, you will primarily work with our e-service platform and the development of digital service flows. You will play a key role in making our services simpler, smarter, and more user-friendly. This role suits you if you enjoy understanding needs, seeing connections, and finding solutions that make a difference for the user.

You will work closely with both the business operations and the team. This means you need to thrive in collaborations and be curious about how different parts of the organization function. You will also act as a requirements setter and support in dialogue with suppliers and other technical parties. Often, the work involves listening to needs, solving the puzzle between technology and business to translate them into sustainable digital solutions.

We are facing a platform change for our e-services. This means you will enter an exciting phase where much is under development, and you will have the opportunity to influence working methods, structure, and future solutions. Therefore, we are looking for you who are driven, see opportunities, and enjoy being part of building and improving.

Your Competence

You have experience in digital development and want to contribute to developing the municipality's digital services and channels, with special responsibility for our e-services. You have good technical understanding, basic experience in coding, and work with, for example, web, integrations, e-services, or other digital platforms. You have post-secondary education in a relevant area, or experience that the employer considers equivalent.

It is important that you have a basic understanding of communication work and user experience. You need to understand how technology, content, and user needs are connected.

At the same time, you are curious, flexible, and thrive in collaborations with different competencies. You develop working methods based on the needs of the business and translate them into smart, user-friendly digital services. You are self-motivated and responsible, and have the ability to independently drive, prioritize, and follow up on your tasks.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and the desire to develop together with us. To thrive here, you need to be unpretentious, comfortable working broadly, and enjoy working in the intersection between technology, communication, and business. Your communication skills are good; you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, are receptive, and can explain technical issues clearly.

Experience with e-service platforms, practical experience with accessibility work according to WCAG, or experience working with integrations and APIs is considered meritorious.

What We Offer

Here, you will work in an engaged team with broad competence. You will work closely with both technology, communication, and business, contributing to solutions that benefit our residents. We believe in collaboration, knowledge sharing, and combining different perspectives to create the best possible digital experience.

In this recruitment, we conduct ongoing selection, so send in your application today!

We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility. This means you plan your workday yourself, have flextime, and the opportunity to work remotely for part of the time.

Here, you become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in the big and small things. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approx. 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
