This position reports to: IS Division Manager
The Process Control Platform (PCP) lays the foundation of Automation business area with proven and innovative technology. Our mission is to shape the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and digital solutions of tomorrow. PCP is the value-generating partner, creating digital control solutions for industries.
As the Business Analyst for PCP Information Systems (IS), you will be primarily responsible for supporting, enhancing, and innovating solutions for R&D, Product Management, and Go-To-Market processes. You will be our liaison who listens, understands, and captures needs from our business stakeholders and translates them into requirements for IS. You are part of each project from start to end.
You will work primarily with PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technologies and also with various tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Power Platform (including Power BI), Jira, and other Office 365 tools on a daily basis.
You will be part of a globally distributed Business Process and IS team with members working across the value chain to support different functions such as R&D, Product Management, Sales, Service, etc. As part of your role, you will interact mainly with R&D product owners, project managers, design engineers, developers, as well as with the IS community.
The work model for the role is: hybrid at the given locations.
Your role and responsibilities
- Primary Business Process Owner and SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for R&D, Product Management, and Go-to-Market Processes.
- Capture & document Pain Points, Risks & Opportunities, Requirements & Use Cases.
- Act as the bridge between Business and IT by translating business processes and requirements into clear, actionable specifications for the IS community.
- Guide and support IS project teams, IS Application Managers & Application Process Managers, for related R&D applications/tools/process improvements and mandatory security & compliance assessments.
- Lead, coach, or support future projects to improve PLM-linked processes within PCP as required.
- Communicate status and health of existing or new processes/projects to management.
- Assist in Request for Proposal / Information (RFP/RFI) – refers to running different bids from external/internal vendors for an upcoming project or solution.
Qualifications for the role
- 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of R&D Business Processes, related to product lifecycle management & go-to-market.
- Good Listener and Communicator with technical R&D and L3-L4 Support Personnel; to build trust.
- Strong Requirements Management and Change Management skills.
- Experience of managing or working in a virtual team, driving or supporting projects and understanding of demands of large and globally distributed R&D & IS teams.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Information Systems (IS) or Engineering degree in Electrical or similar field required.
- Knowledge of PTC Windchill PLM technology (or equivalent), or a willingness to learn the basics.
- Understanding of the automation industry, or an interest in developing this knowledge.
- Experience in defining and driving IT projects for R&D process improvements, or readiness to learn and contribute in this area.
