Do you have extensive experience in project management and a genuine interest in the complex operations involved in railway maintenance? Then you might be our new project manager for the maintenance of the Mitt-Ådalsbanan line!

Job Responsibilities

As a project manager within our Maintenance business area, you impact many people every day, and your work is crucial for a functioning, accessible, and safe transport system. In your role as project manager for the Mitt-Ådalsbanan line, you are part of the client organization for railway maintenance in the Northern Region, Southern Section. You will lead a project team consisting of both technical and administrative support resources. In this role, you have no formal personnel responsibility; instead, you are responsible for the team's joint deliverables throughout the project. This offers you significant development opportunities, and you work freely with your own responsibility.

You are responsible for the overall leadership, steering, and follow-up of the project, including budget responsibility, ensuring that the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) receives what we have ordered/tendered. This also involves communicating expectations to the contractor and, in close collaboration with them, ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in accordance with the contract and set requirements. The aim is for our customers to be able to use the infrastructure smoothly, sustainably, and safely. The role also includes participating in the tendering of contracts and being responsible for communication regarding contractual matters.

You participate in making decisions regarding measures, action alternatives, and resource usage within the project's framework. You also have contact with internal and external parties such as other departments within Trafikverket, the public, municipalities, other contractors, and other stakeholders in the project. You will represent Trafikverket at meetings and gatherings concerning issues within your geographical area. Qualifications

To succeed in the role of project manager, you have good problem-solving skills; you solve operational problems without missing the long-term strategies, and you perceive and analyze connections in the complex information environment that characterizes the railway. You are proactive and structured, and can independently see what needs to be done and act accordingly. It is also important that you are team-oriented to achieve common goals together with your team. You have good communication skills; your message is conveyed clearly, and you are receptive and adapt your communication to the situation. You are confident and clear in your leadership and have the courage to present your own opinions. As a leader at Trafikverket, you are driven by helping people grow through present leadership, and through your leadership, you create trust and build confidence.

You have:

  • A university or college education of at least 180 hp (120 p) in a technical and job-relevant field, or alternatively other education that we assess as comparable together with the requested experience.
  • Several years of current work experience leading technical projects within societal infrastructure (in roles such as project manager, assignment leader, site manager), where the following tasks have been included in your area of responsibility: construction management, contract follow-up, budget and forecasting work, scheduling, and result follow-up.
  • Current experience leading teams toward joint delivery within the aforementioned area.
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
  • A valid driver's license for passenger cars.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Work experience from the client or contractor role in maintenance or new construction projects within the railway sector.
  • Current and relevant experience in developing colleagues in their work.
  • Current and relevant experience in working in an agent/representative role.
