Executive Office
Are questions regarding property and environmental law of interest to you? The Legal Unit is now seeking a reinforcement in the form of a lawyer with experience in negotiations and litigation within these areas.
About the job
The person we are looking for will primarily work with property and construction-related issues, as well as some aspects of environmental law within the framework of SLU's operations. This may involve general questions regarding agreements, land allocation, environmental impact assessments, supervisory cases, development issues, construction implementation, and other project-related matters where you will independently represent the authority. You will work together with the other lawyers at the Legal Unit. You will participate in the routine legal work within the authority and also work with other issues handled by the unit. You will have significant independent responsibility for your cases. The work entails:
- Representing SLU as a representative in legal matters before courts and towards other authorities.
- Acting as a legal advisor and providing support and guidance within operations in various types of legal cases and work processes.
- Supporting the operations in matters concerning public access to information, confidentiality, disclosure of documents, and research agreements.
- Conducting internal training and providing information on current issues.
- Serving as SLU's legal competence within property and environmental law.
Your background
We are looking for you who have completed a law degree and have several years of experience in property and construction law with litigation experience, as well as some experience in working with environmental impact assessments at the County Administrative Board or the Land and Environment Court. It is meritorious if you have worked with the public or municipal sector.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and want you to be proactive and independent. You have an egalitarian approach and work well with others. Within the university, you will collaborate with many different professions and decision-makers, which places high demands on independence, security, and flexibility. You have pedagogical skills and high integrity, as well as very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
About us
You will become part of the Legal Unit, which consists of a unit manager, an assistant chief lawyer, and four university lawyers. You will collaborate with other functions and units within the Executive Office and the rest of the university's operational support/SLU.
The Executive Office at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) consists of approximately 30 employees across three different units: the secretariat, the Legal Unit, and the Unit for Archives, Information Management, and Registry.
