Description

The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the field of chemistry. The department has 270 employees and a turnover of 300 million SEK. Highly successful, internationally competitive research is conducted within the department's six programs. We have a large number of externally funded research projects, often involving international collaboration, and we see continued strong growth within our field. The department has educational responsibilities within engineering and advanced engineering programs as well as master's programs. The Ångström Advanced Battery Centre (ÅABC) is located at the department and is one of the university's largest research environments. ÅABC coordinates the competence center Batteries Sweden and participates in the leadership of the Swedish Electromobility Center, and has many projects funded by Swedish authorities and the EU. Within the research environment, the European initiative Battery2030+ is also coordinated, as well as Uppsala University's activities within the national battery initiative Compel. As a project coordinator, you will facilitate the work of participating researchers and promote collaboration with other actors, both in Uppsala, at other universities, in industry, and internationally.

Responsibilities

As a Project Coordinator, you are expected to work strategically and operationally in a dynamic environment with many interaction surfaces with both academia and industry, both in Sweden and internationally. The role involves providing support to responsible professors, as well as establishing and implementing operational goals for competence centers and projects. The position consists of planning, coordination, follow-up, and reporting of various projects, as well as strategic work within the battery field.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in chemistry, physics, or materials science, or knowledge acquired in other ways that the employer deems equivalent.
  • A solid research background in batteries (including electrochemistry, materials science, or similar).
  • Experience of collaboration between academia and industry.
  • Experience of project management with supervisory responsibility.
  • Experience of independent work.
  • Experience of designing research-related reports and texts.
  • Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Desirable / Meritorious

Several years of experience working with relevant Swedish industry in the battery field. Experience of collaboration with international industry and academia in the battery field. Excellent understanding of and experience with the Swedish and European research and innovation system and its actors (universities, institutes, authorities, industry organizations, etc.).

Conditions

The employment is permanent (probationary period may apply). The position is full-time. Start date by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
