We are looking for an engaged physiotherapist with an interest in habilitation to join the Neuro and Brain Injury Team in Örebro!
The Neuro and Brain Injury Team at Adult Habilitation in Örebro County provides habilitation to individuals with brain injuries, neurological diseases, and/or mobility impairments. Our goal is to help people with disabilities achieve greater participation and satisfaction in their daily lives. We are a cohesive team with a supportive atmosphere, where our professional roles complement each other. The team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, and speech therapists. The team has access to neurologists for consultation on medical issues when needed. We carry out our interventions with a long-term perspective, focusing on daily life. We involve relatives and staff/personal assistants in the work. We collaborate with the network and other actors responsible for services to our target group.
Adult Habilitation also has county-wide operations for other target groups, such as the Autism Team, the Team for Intellectual Disability, the Team for Sensory-Based Treatment - Experience/Music Therapy, and Aphasia House.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a physiotherapist in the Neuro and Brain Injury Team, you will have a broad and varied field of work and become part of a team. The responsibilities include active participation in teamwork and general habilitation work such as new patient visits, individual habilitation plans, and network meetings. We strive to give our patients the best conditions for daily life, and you will work both directly with patients and relatives and indirectly with the network through consultative work. You plan your work independently in close collaboration with your entire team, based out of Karlahuset in Örebro, covering our county areas. You meet patients at our clinics, during home visits, and at their workplaces. You carry out interventions alone or together with other professions from the team.
Our patients often have spasticity issues, misalignments, and motor difficulties. As a complement to other care, you assess needs and offer interventions regarding positioning, mobilization, and pain relief. You perform functional assessments, initiate treatments, trial and prescribe standing, walking, and training aids, design home exercise programs, offer training periods (including in the pool), and instruct/train networks and staff groups. At Adult Habilitation, we have access to training activities in the pool and gym. We also have the help of rehab assistants here.
You work closely with occupational therapists on interventions regarding complex sitting. We also have close collaboration with an assistive technology consultant at the Assistive Technology Center regarding complex sitting. If necessary, you refer to orthopedic technology or other specialist units, and sometimes accompany the patient there. We also have close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and orthopedic engineers. You may have advisory conversations about healthy lifestyle habits and provide advice and support to find ways to increase the patient's activity level.
We are positive about new ideas to develop the operations, and there is an opportunity to influence the work and the range of treatment interventions. When you start working with us, you will receive supervision from experienced colleagues tailored to your needs. You will also participate in the physiotherapists' professional meetings every month.
QualificationsLicensed physiotherapist. Interest and experience from habilitation and the relevant target groups are meritorious. Personal suitability is highly valued, which for us means interest and aptitude for collaboration within the team, within Adult Habilitation, and with external partners.
Since the work involves both teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare providers and authorities, good teamwork skills and flexibility are important qualities. Furthermore, it is crucial that you are a good communicator with the ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. We are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and finds motivation in seeing solutions and opportunities in complex situations.
A B-class driver's license is required as travel is part of the job.
