The Business Area (VO) of Child and Adolescent Medicine conducts a broad pediatric activity with good competence in many subspecialty areas. The activity has a county-wide responsibility for inpatient care for children and adolescents and provides highly specialized care within neonatology. Inpatient care is provided on a neonatal ward for newborns as well as a pediatric care ward (0-18 years). We have a day care for children as well as a mobile child team. Outpatient activities are conducted at a subspecialty clinic at USÖ as well as at three general pediatric clinics (Örebro, Karlskoga, and Lindesberg). The VO Child and Adolescent Medicine has a paramedical unit to which the dietitians belong, together with counselors, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, teachers, and play therapists.

Working as a dietitian with us involves a broad and interesting job with assignments on both the ward and the clinic. You will be part of a group of dietitians who together work with children and adolescents with various medical conditions, such as diabetes, food allergies, oncology, obesity, and growth problems. Area responsibilities are distributed among the dietitians, but we collaborate and cover for each other when needed. You will be responsible for the nutritional treatment of children and will meet families individually and in groups, and also participate in the training of healthcare personnel. We often work in teams around the child, and joint visits with other professional categories are common.

Licensed Dietitian. We would like you to have experience working with children and adolescents. Great importance is attached to personal qualities such as flexibility, independence, and good teamwork skills.

We have a day care for children and the activity has a very well-functioning mobile child team. Outpatient activities are conducted at the subspecialty clinic at USÖ as well as at three general pediatric clinics in Örebro, Lindesberg, and Karlskoga. At the child and adolescent clinic, dietitians, counselors, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, and play therapists work in close collaboration with each other and with other healthcare personnel.
