We are currently looking for an experienced BI Developer with deep expertise in Power BI for an exciting consulting assignment with a large public sector organization. This role is perfect for you if you thrive at the intersection of business and technology and want to contribute to developing data-driven working methods within the HR department.

You will play a central role in modernizing and further developing the organization's reporting and monitoring support by replacing existing solutions with modern Power BI reports and data models. The assignment involves close collaboration with both the business units and internal BI specialists to ensure high quality, usability, and long-term sustainable solutions.

About the Assignment

You will become part of a strategic development effort aimed at creating effective tools and better decision-making support for the HR department. The role involves translating the business's needs for monitoring and reporting into concrete data models, datasets, and Power BI solutions.

You will collaborate closely with the organization's digitalization and IT functions, as well as the BI team responsible for data extraction to the organization's data platform in Microsoft Fabric. With access to the data warehouse, you will build your own datasets, models, and reports, ensuring that data is presented in a relevant and business-adapted manner.

The role requires that you can understand business needs, analyze data sources, and act as a link between the business and the BI team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Power BI reports and dashboards
• Replace existing reporting support with modern BI solutions
• Create and maintain data models and datasets
• Work with quality assurance and analysis of HR data
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Act as a requirements setter towards the BI team and IT function
• Integrate and process data from various data sources
• Work on performance optimization of reports and data models
• Document solutions, data models, and working methods
• Conduct knowledge transfer to internal resources
• Collaborate with business representatives, HR specialists, BI developers, and IT functions

Qualifications

• Relevant university education in fields such as systems science, computer science, economics, or Business Intelligence
• At least 3 years of documented experience in developing and implementing Power BI solutions
• Experience with BI and reporting solutions within municipal or regional operations
• Experience with at least two similar assignments
• Very good knowledge of data modeling in Power BI
• Advanced competence in Power Query
• Very good knowledge of DAX and optimization of DAX functions
• Experience integrating and processing data from multiple data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, and external systems
• Good understanding of system integration and information flows between business systems
• Experience with performance optimization in Power BI
• Good understanding of data warehouses and modern BI platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric
• Experience working with data from business systems such as HR, finance, or personnel systems
• Good knowledge of GDPR and its impact on data handling
• Very good ability to document technical solutions and working methods
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business systems such as Heroma, Raindance, or WebFOCUS
• Experience migrating from older reporting platforms to Power BI
• Experience with HR analysis and personnel-related monitoring
• Experience working in Microsoft Fabric environments
