Role Description

In this role as Network Specialist, you will become a key person in the development of our network and security infrastructure. Large parts of the infrastructure are currently managed by an external partner, and we are now in a position where we are building up our own ownership of the area, step by step.

The role involves getting to know our existing environment and shaping how it should be built moving forward. Through your expertise and in collaboration with colleagues, you will create a robust and secure network architecture that serves as the foundation for operating all our critical business operations. In this role, you will work broadly to create structure, simplify complexity, and set direction while being involved in our technical environments.

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for the design, operation, and further development of our network environment with a focus on the big picture, architecture, and network security.
• Contribute to the development of segmentation, zoning, and security principles.
• Be involved in setting direction and making technical choices regarding network architecture, operations, and future working methods.
• Work in a complex hybrid environment where on-premises and cloud-based solutions interact.

This is a very important role for us at Tekniska verken, and you therefore have an absolute key role in our ongoing transformation journey. The role involves broad interfaces within IT operations and security where you help ensure a safe and stable foundation for the entire organization's digital deliveries.

The position is located at Tekniska verken's headquarters in central Linköping. On-call duties are included in the position.

Your Profile and Background

We are looking for you who have a strong foundation in network technology and are accustomed to working in environments where security is an integrated part of network design and operations. As a person, you take great responsibility and have a natural drive to solve problems here and now as well as improve and develop the environment over time.

We are looking for you who have:

• Extensive experience in network technology with a focus on on-premises environments, routing, switching, LAN/WAN, and IP design.
• Extensive experience in network security and firewalls (Check Point, but also Azure Firewall).
• Good understanding of segmentation, zoning, and security in network environments.
• Experience in simplifying complex environments where on-premises and cloud-based solutions interact.

It is meritorious if you also have experience with:

• Automation and IaC / Infrastructure as Code.
• Modern security principles such as Zero Trust.

Furthermore, fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing are required. As we are a security-classified operation, background checks and security clearance will be conducted.
