Do you have experience with positioning and navigation systems, or are you an engineer with strong drive and curiosity to develop within the field? We are now looking for both experienced systems engineers and young talents who want to help develop future mission capabilities within advanced combat air systems.

Your role

As a Systems Engineer within Positioning & Navigation, you work in the early stages of product development, focusing on understanding and breaking down customer and user needs into technical concepts and demonstrators.

You will work on the future use of positioning and navigation systems in flying autonomous vehicles and operate at the intersection of technology, operational needs, and strategic goals.

You will become part of a growing team of both junior and senior systems engineers across various technical disciplines, where knowledge sharing, collaboration, and technical curiosity are in focus.

Example of tasks

• Exploration of new technologies and standards
• Stakeholder and needs analysis
• Concept development and trade-off analysis between different system properties (accuracy, integrity, availability, latency, cost, etc.).
• System architecture and development of reference architecture for future products
• Modeling, simulation, demonstration, and validation of technical solutions
• Creation of technical reports and decision support documents
• Knowledge dissemination within the organization

Your profile

We are looking for both you who have extensive experience in the field and you who are at the beginning of your career but have a strong interest in technology and a desire to develop.

You have:

• An academic technical degree in, for example, systems engineering, electrical engineering, technical physics, or equivalent
• Experience with – or interest in – positioning and navigation systems
• Interest in complex systems and work in early development phases
• Experience with – or interest in – technical leadership

It is an advantage if you have experience from defense, aviation, automotive industry, or other safety-critical operations, as well as technical knowledge in:

• Inertial navigation systems, GNSS (GPS, Galileo), alternative positioning technologies (image-based, radio signal-based, etc.), multi-sensor fusion, robustness against interference, atomic clocks, etc.

Other experiences and qualities we value during recruitment are:

• Experience working in the concept phase, architecture modeling, and lifting concepts to prototypes
• An analytical mind and ability to break down complex problems
• Good communication and collaboration skills
