About Sjöängsskolan

Sjöängsskolan is located in a quiet area on Bomhusvägen, approximately 4 km from Gävle City Center. About 320 students attend our school, ranging from preschool class to grade six, and we are a bilingual school. We also have three after-school care departments and a youth club. Approximately 40 employees work at Sjöängsskolan, and we have a high proportion of certified staff. We have a pleasant schoolyard with wooded areas and access to large football fields next to the school. Our sports hall is large and well-equipped. You can easily reach us by bus, car, or via excellent cycling paths.

Sjöängsskolan belongs to the Lillhagen principal area, and we work based on prioritized goals: Knowledge, Values, and Student Health Work. We are supported by several lead teachers who work across areas with all staff at regular conferences and study days. We work with collegial learning and systematic analyses and evaluations of our teaching to ensure that both students and staff have the best opportunities for development. We use the Unikum system for planning, assessment, and communication with guardians.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help create a safe, active, and developmental daily life for our students at Sjöängsskolan? Great, then this might be the job for you! We are now looking for a colleague who will teach Physical Education and Health in grades F-6. We have two PE teachers at the school, where you and your colleague work together in some grades and divide responsibilities in others. You and your colleague conduct teaching in a large and well-equipped sports hall.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to decided goals and guidelines.
• Planning and conducting outdoor days.
• Working together with colleagues to create a school where everyone feels safe and seen as students, guardians, and staff.
• Challenging and supporting students so they achieve good academic results, adapting your teaching to the needs and conditions of all students.
• Working in collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians.
• Working based on Gävle Municipality's values, good treatment, a good ability to cooperate, and valuing high quality in work.

Qualifications

In this role, you actively contribute to a culture where we together take responsibility for creating the best conditions for students' learning and development. You are happy to share your ideas, take in others' perspectives, and see collegial learning as a natural part of the assignment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a teacher degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach in grades F-6 and the subject of Physical Education.
• Is familiar with and has knowledge of the Swedish compulsory school curriculum.
• Has the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students.
• Has experience and knowledge of working with digital tools.

It is meritorious if you are:

• An after-school teacher with a PE certification.

The final candidate must be able to present a police certificate of good conduct for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.

Working hours: Daytime.
