Murgårdsskolan is located centrally in Sandviken and is close to everything, including nature. Göransson Arena, Ferrum Arena, and Parkbadet are within walking distance. For the school year 26/27, Murgårdsskolan will be a grades 3-9 school, with approximately 300 students in grades 7-9.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a mentor for Murgårdsskolan grades 7-9; the position is a temporary assignment during the school year 26/27. The assignment includes mentorship for the school's classes together with the other mentors at the school.

As a mentor, you are an important part of the students' daily lives. You motivate, support, and help them in both studies and social situations. You work closely with teachers, other staff, and guardians to create a secure learning environment.

You contribute by:

• Being a support for the students during the school day and promoting their well-being
• Creating trusting relationships that strengthen attendance and engagement
• Working systematically based on the school's pedagogical mission
• Actively participating in the safety work at the school

• Sharing experiences and supporting each other in the mentor team
• Having an open and solution-oriented collaboration
• Creating an inclusive and positive school environment together

QUALIFICATIONS

As a mentor, you are a secure point in the students' daily lives. To succeed in the role, stability and self-awareness are needed; this helps you meet different situations with calm and professionalism. The work involves close contact with students, teachers, and guardians, so sensitivity and teamwork skills are crucial. You communicate clearly, find solutions, and handle conflicts constructively. Since the school day can change quickly, flexibility is an important trait. You see opportunities in new situations and contribute to a positive and secure environment for the students.

For the assignment, the following are required:

• University education in pedagogy, behavioral science, or other equivalent education.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We would appreciate it if you have experience working with children and young people in need of special support. Experience from working in a school environment is also meritorious.
