We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to develop, automate, and operate modern platforms and services. You will work closely with developers, operations, and security to create stable, secure, and scalable solutions.

Here, you will have the opportunity to influence technical choices, improve CI/CD flows, and contribute to a modern development culture focused on automation and quality.

Your responsibilities and tasks

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a central role in the development of our most critical applications and platforms. You will work with solutions used by Sweden's civil preparedness actors to handle societal disruptions. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with technology that makes a difference and contribute to a safer society.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Collaborate with development teams on DevOps processes, with system developers, architects, and suppliers to continuously improve our applications and platforms with user needs in focus.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Work with container platforms and cloud services.
• Monitor systems, logs, and performance.
• Improve security, availability, and scalability.
• Participate in incident management and troubleshooting.
• Follow technological development and monitor new technology to identify opportunities and support colleagues, partners, and suppliers.
• Identify challenges and suggest design improvements to ensure high quality and good delivery.
• Participate in the work of creating communication solutions and applications that are crucial for operations.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who have:

• Relevant university education or equivalent experience that we assess as equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in DevOps, system development, or infrastructure.
• Experience with agile working methods.
• Experience with automation of builds and tests in CI tools.
• Experience with automation/configuration of delivery via Continuous Delivery tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• DevSecOps.
• Packaging tools and distribution such as Helm and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Secrets manager services.
• High-availability clusters.
• Docker and containers.
• Linux.
• IT security, design, and architecture of server environments for critical applications.

About the position

We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.

Your place of work will be Karlstad, and travel during employment will occur.

Most of our positions involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the case of placement in a security class, a security investigation with register check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed.

About us

On the section for service development and innovation, we are 13 employees, and we are located in both Karlstad and Stockholm. The unit's task is innovation and development of services as well as continuously working to improve services within socially important communication services. Within the section, we also have responsibility for coordinating AI within socially important communication services.
