Jefferson Wells is currently looking for an experienced Functional Safety Consultant for an exciting assignment with our client. About the Assignment

In this role, you will become an important part of an R&D team where safety is an integrated part of product development. You will work closely with designers, systems engineers, and other specialists to ensure that products and systems meet high safety requirements according to international standards, primarily ISO 13849.

The work covers the entire chain from initial risk assessments to fully validated and documented safety solutions. You will have the opportunity to influence technical solutions and ensure they meet both regulatory requirements and internal quality goals.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will work both operationally and advisory on safety issues in development projects. You are responsible for analyzing, designing, and quality-assuring safety solutions. Your tasks will include:

• conducting and leading risk assessments according to ISO 12100
• defining safety functions and determining Performance Level (PL)
• designing and developing safety-related control systems
• ensuring validation according to ISO 13849-2
• producing and structuring technical documentation related to safety

The work also involves interpreting and translating standards into practical and effective solutions in complex technical environments.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a strong technical background in functional safety and experience working in safety-critical environments. You are confident in your competence and have the ability to translate standard requirements into functioning solutions in practice.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have experience with functional safety according to ISO 13849-1 and ISO 13849-2, as well as good knowledge of risk assessment, Performance Level, and safety functions. Furthermore, you have experience in designing and validating safety-related control systems and the ability to interpret and apply technical standards.

Experience from working with technically advanced products, machinery, or vehicle systems is advantageous.

Advantageous Qualifications

It is an advantage if you have experience from related standards or industries, which gives you the opportunity to contribute quickly to the assignment. Experience with ISO 12100, work in manufacturing industry or technology-intensive environments, and work in international development organizations are seen as positive.

You are meticulous and methodical, have good collaboration skills, and can communicate clearly with different types of stakeholders. You take responsibility for your deliverables and work according to established processes and routines.
