Do you have a background in chemistry and want to use your skills in a technical and business-oriented role? We are now looking for a Component Engineer with a chemistry focus who wants to work on ensuring the right materials and components in advanced products, in close collaboration with both project teams and suppliers.

About the role

As a Component Engineer, you play a central role in ensuring that the right components are available for production, both in new development and in existing products. You work with analyzing, qualifying, and implementing components based on technical requirements, legal requirements, and availability. The role involves a strong focus on documentation and information gathering, where you act as the link between internal projects and external suppliers. The work is often carried out in parallel across several projects and requires a structured approach as well as the ability to drive cases forward to minimize disruptions in production.

Examples of tasks:

  • Identify and evaluate new components based on requirements and needs
  • Manage end-of-life components and find replacement solutions
  • Ensure that components meet relevant legal and material requirements
  • Gather, review, and follow up on substance and material declarations
  • Maintain and update component data in business systems and databases
  • Ensure correct documentation is available so that components can be ordered
  • Have ongoing dialogue with suppliers to obtain technical information
  • Push and follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery of the correct documentation
  • Conduct technical analyses and assessments of components
  • Work closely with project teams and support them in component selection

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in chemistry or similar
  • At least 1 year of experience working with substance declarations and/or chemical-related legal requirements, for example from the paint industry, petrochemicals, chemical production, or testing operations
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of contact with suppliers
  • Experience with business systems such as IFS
  • Experience working with components

About you

To thrive in this role, we see that you are a structured person who enjoys documentation and has a natural drive to find and ensure the right information. You are proactive and communicative, while also being unpretentious and humble in your approach. Furthermore, you are a team player who values collaboration and contributes to the team's common goals, rather than working independently on your own.
