About the operations

At Staffan Adapted Primary School, students with intellectual disabilities who are assessed as not meeting the knowledge requirements of primary school attend classes. Here, the student receives education and instruction adapted to their needs and prerequisites. The education in adapted primary school gives the student important knowledge and values, contributes to personal development and social community, and creates a good foundation for active participation in society. Staffan Adapted Primary School is located in the same building as Staffansskolan in Brynäs.

Tallbo Adapted Primary School is located in a beautiful natural area in Strömsbro, just north of Gävle. Here, teaching is conducted within adapted primary school focusing on subject areas, grades 1–9. Vallback is located centrally in Gävle, focusing on subject areas for grades 7-9. Both operations run after-school care and supervision (TÖT) in the school premises before and after school hours.

Job Description

At our schools, students with intellectual disabilities who are assessed as unable to meet the knowledge requirements of primary school attend classes. Here, the student receives education and instruction adapted to their needs and prerequisites. The education in adapted primary school gives the student important knowledge and values, contributes to personal development and social community, and creates a good foundation for active participation in society.

With your competence, you challenge and support the students so that they reach as far as possible.

The assignment as a student assistant varies depending on the students' situation and the school's needs. The basic assignment is to create good relationships with the students and work with students both individually and at the group level. The work is carried out in classrooms, individual support, and group support. A large part of the daily work is to support and help students in all daily situations during the student's school day and leisure time. The work also includes functioning as supplementary adult support at the school and working for the students' well-being and security.

You work together with the class and leisure time teams. You create good relationships with guardians and other school staff. Together, you design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus.

Qualifications

As a student assistant at the adapted primary school, you become an important part of creating security, support, and motivation for the students' development. Here, you will work closely with people, build relationships, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

In this recruitment, we are looking for student assistants for both temporary positions and permanent employment.

We are looking for you who have:

• A high school diploma with at least 2250 points
• Previous experience working with the target group of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD)
• Substantial and extensive experience working with the target group of intellectual disabilities (ID)
• Knowledge and experience in working in a low-affective manner
• Knowledge and experience of AAC (TAKK/AKK)
• Knowledge of and experience with working with digital tools
• Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing

You are also welcome to have experience working with people who have epilepsy.

Interviews and Employment

In this recruitment, we will hold group interviews on-site on the afternoon of 16/6 or the morning of 17/6.

To be eligible for the position, you must be able to present a certificate of good conduct (police record) for work within the school.
