Svenska Kyrkan (the Church of Sweden) is where people are. Close to where you live and on the other side of the world. Everywhere we are there for you who want and need – in loneliness, crisis, joy and sorrow, in important events and in everyday life. Regardless of who you are and what faith you have. At the Church Secretariat, approximately 500 people work within a wide range of professions, at the forefront of our areas of knowledge. Together we work on issues that are common to the entire Church of Sweden. In this way, we strengthen the Church's ability to meet contemporary challenges and contribute to peace, justice, and a sustainable society.
The Church of Sweden's Economic Service in Uppsala is now looking for Economic Assistants
Our Operations
We continue to grow and are now looking for economic assistants for our office in Uppsala. Here, you will work in a consultative role within a broad economic assistant position and in a meaningful context. You have basic accounting knowledge and experience working as an economic assistant.
The Church of Sweden's Economic Service offers economic support to parishes, deaneries, and dioceses within the Church of Sweden, both in the form of ongoing management and qualified support. We are organized into geographical units and are located in nine different places around the country.
We are on an exciting journey of change where we are developing both our working methods and collaboration within the Economic Service. We continuously work on refining and digitizing our ways of working and are, among other things, facing an update of our working methods with the introduction of new processes and new system support.
Job Responsibilities
As an economic assistant, you work with administrative tasks related to finance, such as ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliation, and supplier and customer accounts. Other tasks related to economic processes may also be included in the position, for example, development projects within the economic services.
You work independently but have colleagues in similar roles nearby to collaborate with. In the work groups, we value collaboration, helping each other, and jointly taking responsibility for the whole. The work varies in intensity over the month and year, which means you need to work flexibly and task-oriented.
Our parishes, deaneries, and dioceses appreciate that we are locally anchored, while simultaneously developing common working methods for the benefit of the entire Church of Sweden.
We are looking for you who
For this position, we are looking for you who have at least upper secondary education in economics and some years of experience in economic administration. We assume that you have knowledge of economic systems and good computer skills. Experience from business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and/or Hypergene, as well as experience with changing business systems, is meritorious.
You are an important employee
It is important that you enjoy working with us and that we enjoy having you. For a successful match, we see that you are structured and meticulous, have good ability to prioritize and deliver with good quality. You have an administrative streak and thrive in a job where there can sometimes be a high pace. You have the ability to work independently but value collaboration and good communication with colleagues and customers.
We offer
We offer a fun and developing job where there are great opportunities to develop within the organization. The work environment is important to us; we cherish a good community at the workplace and value a sustainable work life with the possibility of working from home a couple of days a week. We have collective agreements, annual working time agreements, health care benefits, health care hours, and lunch benefits.
Permanent full-time position with immediate start or according to agreement.
