About the Job

We are looking for extra staff – ushers and serving personnel – for Gothenburg City Theatre (Göteborgs Stadsteater) and Backa Theatre for the 2026–2027 season. At Gothenburg City Theatre, we operate the Tiljan restaurant as well as several other bars and serving areas. At Backa Theatre, we run the Backa Theatre café and bistro during our public performances. You will be part of a team led by four supervisors who together ensure the operation of Gothenburg City Theatre's restaurants and public services.

The tasks vary and include, among other things, bar service, some table service with multi-course menus, ticket control, cloakroom duties, and safety responsibilities in connection with the evacuation of the audience during events.

The position is a fixed-term appointment on an as-needed basis, primarily taking place during evenings and weekends. We naturally offer contractual salaries and collective agreements (National Agreement between Swedish Performing Arts and the Trade Unions Scen och Film and Akademikerförbunden).

Together with the theatre's other employees, you will become part of a team with the goal of creating and conveying quality theatre that entertains and engages, sparks debate, and encourages reflection.

About You

We are looking for you who have solid experience in serving, are service-oriented, enjoy a high tempo, order and structure, and together with us want to drive our operations forward. Putting colleagues and guests first and creating a sense of team spirit with other parts of the operation is second nature to you.

You have solid experience working in the restaurant industry with a serving license, or other experience that we assess as equivalent. You may have gained this experience through work, education, or other relevant contexts.

You have knowledge of the Alcohol Act and experience working with cash handling.

In your work, you will encounter the audience in various situations. This means you need to be able to adapt your interaction, listen to needs, and contribute to a holistic experience for our visitors.

In this role, you collaborate with colleagues where clear communication and good teamwork are central, both in daily work and in situations requiring quick decision-making, such as during high audience influx or safety-related incidents.

You must be able to communicate in Swedish at work.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
