Work Leader for Urban Environment – Drive the development of Eskilstuna's streets and parks

About Us

The Urban Environment area is part of the Community Development Administration. We have approximately 110 employees across five operations in our area: Parks and Nature, Street Maintenance, City Maintenance, and the Traffic Unit. Our operational area covers public land.

Responsibilities

In the role of Work Leader, you will manage, develop, and improve the operation and maintenance of streets, roads, pedestrian and cycle paths, squares, public land, and other facilities within the operational area. Operation and maintenance are carried out both in-house and through procured contractors.

Your role involves creating maintenance plans, planning, and distributing daily operations for approximately 21 employees. You act as the client and specifier towards contractors, participate in procurement processes, detailed planning work, and ensure that deliveries are made according to agreements. You are also responsible for monitoring the department's economy and budget, as well as certain documentation. You work closely with your manager and support the department's work environment efforts.

Qualifications and Merits

Building good relationships with others motivates you, and you are flexible and helpful where needed. You have a positive attitude and are skilled at adapting your communication to those you meet. You have a strong interest in leading and motivating others and are attuned to the group's needs. You are structured but can quickly shift focus when required.

We are looking for someone with a high school education and relevant experience. You have a few years of current work experience with a focus on leading and distributing work. It is an advantage if you are accustomed to working administratively and have basic economic knowledge. Experience working in a politically governed organization is also beneficial. Experience in street maintenance, parks/nature, or the construction industry, as well as experience with procurement, is meritorious.

Citizenship and Work Permits
