We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager within buildings and infrastructure for a long-term full-time assignment in one of Sweden's larger infrastructure projects. This role is suitable for you who have extensive experience in construction management, production, bridge projects, and contract follow-up within road and/or railway-related infrastructure projects.

The assignment is located in Skellefteå and requires physical presence on-site five days a week. Business travel may occur to work sites within the contract area as well as to other project offices in Northern Sweden.

About the role

As a Construction Manager, you will be a central part of the project organization and support the project management with production-technical issues. You will not lead the contractor's production, but rather work with coordination, control, follow-up, monitoring, and quality assurance on the client side.

You will among other things work with:

  • Ensuring that contracts are carried out according to contract documents
  • Following up on technology, economy, time, quality, environment, working environment, and safety
  • Maintaining ongoing and daily contact with contractors
  • Controlling and following up on the contractor's work
  • Identifying risks, problem areas, and the need for preventive or corrective measures
  • Providing project managers with material for decisions and financial settlements
  • Collaborating with other construction managers and adjacent contracts
  • Reviewing control plans, work preparation, self-checks, and the contractor's documentation
  • Keeping a diary, reviewing/signing the contractor's diary, and taking minutes at meetings
  • Participating in inspections and follow-up of final documentation and as-built drawings
  • Contributing to design, review, and development of production-technical solutions on-site
  • Contributing to good collaboration with residents, businesses, and other interested parties in the local area
  • Supporting more junior resources in their development when needed

Workplace and scope

  • Scope: 100 percent, equivalent to full-time
  • Working hours: Normally 40 hours per week
  • Location: Skellefteå
  • Presence: Physical presence on-site five days a week
  • Travel: Business travel occurs within the contract area and to project offices in Northern Sweden
  • You need access to your own car for work (mileage allowance is provided)

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must meet all the following requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as site manager, construction manager, sub-project manager, foreman, project manager, project leader, or similar within infrastructure contracts within road and/or railway
  • The above experience must be from the last 10 years and correspond to at least 50 percent employment per year of experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as construction manager, production manager, foreman, or inspector within bridge projects regarding road and/or railway
  • The bridge experience must correspond to at least 50 percent employment per year of experience
  • Documented experience of applying AMA Anläggning 20 or later edition
  • Documented experience of applying AB04
  • Completed and approved training in Concrete Class 1
  • Category B driver's license
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Skellefteå five days a week
  • Access to your own car for work
  • Ability to provide or use an AMA Premium license
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing

You are confident in the role of Construction Manager and used to working closely with both project management and contractors. You are structured, clear, and precise in your documentation. You have the ability to quickly identify deviations, risks, and practical problems on-site and can translate this into clear decision-making material.

To succeed in the role, you need to be self-reliant, solution-oriented, and communicative. You should have a good understanding of contract law, construction production, technical documents, schedules, control plans, and follow-up of the contract's progress.
