About the position
At Brunnsskolan, we are currently looking for a school nurse for a fixed-term position, with a potential possibility of permanent employment in the future. As a school nurse, you work with health promotion and prevention, and are responsible for assessing students' needs for additional health interventions, which includes health visits, open reception, and administering vaccinations. In your role as a school nurse, you work together with the school's student health team to support students in achieving their goals at school. The student health team includes, in addition to the school nurse, special education teachers, special needs pedagogues, counselors, school psychologists, school doctors, as well as the principal and deputy principal. Together with the student health team and the school's other staff, you work for a good psychosocial work environment for the students and to support their development towards educational goals.
To succeed in the position, it is important that you find it interesting to meet different types of individuals, have a positive view of students, and are genuinely interested in working with our children/young people, where you also have good conversational skills with them. As a school nurse in Örebro Municipality, you are also part of a network of school nurses from Örebro Municipality, providing collegial support and ongoing professional development.
Examples of tasks:
- Responsible for documentation in Prorenata according to the Health and Medical Services Act and the Patient Act.
- Responsible for offering and administering vaccinations according to the national vaccination program and being able to take action in case of vaccination side effects.
- Responsible for assessing students' needs for additional health interventions.
- Inform and provide medical advice in dialogue with students and guardians.
- Work together with the student health team and the school's other staff to create a good physical and psychosocial work environment for the students, as well as to support their development towards educational goals.

Qualifications
To thrive as a school nurse with us, you are expected to be secure, stable, and engaged. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your work by structuring, prioritizing, and driving your processes forward. As a person, you are good at listening, adapting your communication style to the recipient, and inspiring trust. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a receptive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language to a level where you can communicate with students, relatives, and other staff, and can document in writing what the operations require. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Licensed nurse and specialist nurse with a focus on district nursing or children and youth.
Merits:
- Experience working as a school nurse.
- Experience working in digital medical record systems, e.g., Prorenata Journal.
- Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI).
