Administrator/Medical Secretary at the National Board of Forensic Medicine in Stockholm

We are now looking for an administrator for the forensic medicine unit located in Stockholm, at the Karolinska Institute area/Campus Solna. The unit consists of approximately 40 people who work together to conduct forensic autopsies and issue forensic certificates. Six of these employees are part of the administration group.

Your Role

Your role as an administrator/medical secretary will largely consist of assisting forensic pathologists in writing out protocols, reports, and statements from digital dictations made in connection with forensic examinations. The duties also include telephone contact with our clients and the general public, general office tasks, archiving, and registry management. Some quality assurance work and project assignments involving development work at the unit/department and agency level may also occur.

The duties require you to be on-site, so there are currently limited opportunities for remote work.

Qualifications

• Education as a medical secretary or equivalent, or alternatively, work experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Current and multi-year experience in administrative work
• Current experience and proficiency in writing from dictation
• Good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office suite
• High IT maturity and good experience working in various digital systems
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Merits

• Experience working as a registry clerk
• Experience in administrative work within a government agency or public sector

The role also requires you to be structured, quality-conscious, and service-oriented. We also look for a positive attitude and view the development of our operations as a natural part of your work. Furthermore, you need to have very good collaboration skills, as you will have many contact points both internally and externally in your work.

Employment

The employment is a permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. Location is at Forensic Medicine in Stockholm, Solna. The agency's units are located in different parts of Sweden, so travel for work may occur. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

The Department of Forensic Medicine conducts approximately 5,500 forensic autopsies annually on behalf of the police and prosecutors. We also investigate suspected perpetrators and victims of violent crimes. Within the Department of Forensic Medicine, there are six forensic medicine units located in Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Linköping, and Lund.
