Best Western Plus Time Hotel is looking for an engaged and curious Front Desk Shift Leader who wants to help further develop our hotel and create fantastic experiences for our guests through great service, responsibility, and teamwork.
As a family-owned hotel with an inviting lobby bar, conference facilities, and a relaxation room, this is a chance for you to work at a 4-star hotel and meet both business and leisure travelers from all over the world.
Our staff is the heart of our operation, and we value both your personality and your unique qualities – we believe that it is you who can make a difference for our guests. Are you ready to take the next step in your hospitality career?
As Front Desk Shift Leader at Time Hotel, you will be an important part of our team and play a central role in creating memorable experiences for our guests. You will be the first face our guests see when they walk through the doors, and the last face they see when they leave to return home.
We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver and has a passion for exceeding our guests' expectations. Someone with a sharp tongue, a twinkle in their eye, and a personality that makes people feel at home.
You are responsible, flexible, and able to handle a fast pace while making quick decisions. You place great emphasis on high service levels and quality, and your personal qualities are a major competitive advantage. We are looking for a meticulous, non-hierarchical, and positive person with high social competence. You express yourself effortlessly in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
Job Responsibilities
Your duties will include everything from check-in and check-out, handling the switchboard, cash handling, room reservations, conference inquiries, email correspondence, and tourist information. You will also be responsible for sales and service in the bar and ensuring the lobby is clean and tidy. We work with the hotel system MEWS; experience with this system is a plus.
Together with the Front Desk Manager, you lead the reception during your shifts and support the team in daily operations.
The role also includes onboarding new staff, monitoring procedures at the reception and bar, administrative responsibilities, and on-call/rostering duties every other weekend.
The hotel is open 24/7, so it is important that you enjoy working in shifts (mornings, afternoons, and weekends).
Your Areas of Responsibility:
- Participate in the daily operation of the reception and bar: checking guests in/out, serving drinks and simple meals
- Follow and ensure compliance with all established routines and work processes at the hotel.
- Be responsible for training new staff and students according to company guidelines and requirements.
- Administrative tasks such as handling bookings, invoices, transactions, and guest reviews.
- Assist the Front Desk Manager with accounts receivable, reminders, and follow-up on unpaid invoices.
- Participate in the hotel's fire and safety routines according to current guidelines.
- On-call operations and rostering responsibility every other weekend.
- Responsible for BWH membership and ensuring guests receive correct information regarding membership benefits.
The following qualifications are advantageous for becoming our new Front Desk Shift Leader:
- Previous experience working in a hotel reception.
- Experience with the hotel system MEWS and booking channels such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc.
- Team-first mentality – an attentive and non-hierarchical team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall result.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
- A sharp tongue, a twinkle in the eye, and the ability to solve problems.
- Social competence and lack of hierarchy.
The position is a full-time (100%) temporary assignment as one of our employees has applied for parental leave. Scheduled working hours include weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The Front Desk Shift Leader position starts in late August/early September, with the possibility of working extra during the summer for a gradual introduction into the role.
Do you have what it takes to become part of our team at Time Hotel? Submit your application immediately as recruitment for this position is ongoing, and the ad will be removed once the position is filled.
