Job Responsibilities

Through collaboration and on behalf of the principal, the special educator/special teacher works to ensure that all students achieve as high a level of goal fulfillment as possible. The tasks are guided by the needs of the students and the school based on national and local guidelines. This includes:

• Identifying, analyzing, and contributing to the work of removing obstacles and causes of difficulties in students' learning environments, collaborating with school staff and management to facilitate learning for children and students in need of special support.
• Collaborating with individual colleagues, work teams, student health teams, and school management. You are part of a special educational team with several special teachers.
• Serving as a qualified conversation partner and advisor in pedagogical matters for principals, teachers, guardians, and other relevant parties, both internally and externally.
• Conducting pedagogical investigations, analyzing difficulties, and supervising teachers and work teams to create good development opportunities at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
• Handling documentation and follow-up through the school's administrative systems, e.g., Prorenata, UNIKUM, and Skol24.
• Supporting the principal in pedagogical and organizational changes at the school and in strategic matters to develop good learning environments.
• Participating in the school's systematic quality work to increase goal fulfillment.

Your Profile

You have a teaching license as well as a degree in special education or special teaching, and experience in special educational work, for example through work with extra adjustments, special support, pedagogical mapping, and supervision of colleagues. Experience with pedagogical investigations and assessments, as well as action plans, is meritorious. It is also important that you work from a relational and inclusive approach, with the ability to support and supervise teachers in working with accessible learning environments, extra adjustments, and special support. It is particularly important that you have a very good ability to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, guardians, and external actors.

We teach children to read, calculate, and discover the world around them. Here we follow our youngest municipal residents from preschool until they graduate from high school. Through our adult education, one can learn Swedish as a second language, take individual courses, or pursue longer education.
