Laboratory Animal Technician – Open Application (Gothenburg)
Are you a trained Laboratory Animal Technician interested in working with experimental animals in a research environment? We welcome open applications for future assignments with our clients.
In the role of Laboratory Animal Technician, you will play a key part in ensuring the well-being of the animals. You are responsible for ensuring that the animals are treated ethically and that all rules and guidelines are followed. By working with our clients, who conduct research with a wide range of animals and projects, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important scientific advancements.
The duration, scope, and exact tasks of the assignments vary depending on the client and the project. Since this is an open application to cover future needs, we have not set a fixed assignment length, but assignments typically last around 6 months on average.

Responsibilities
Examples of tasks that may be included:
- Care and handling of experimental animals according to current ethical guidelines.
- Document daily observations.
- Monitor animal health and well-being.
- Check temperature, light, and humidity levels.
- Assist researchers with experimental procedures and sampling.
- Responsible for cage cleaning and maintaining the facility's hygiene standards.
- Follow and uphold legislation and guidelines regarding animal testing (e.g., according to the 3R principles).
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Education focused on animal husbandry, animal care, biology, laboratory animal science, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge and experience working with animals.
- Experience working with experimental animals is advantageous but not required.
- LAS (Laboratory Animal Science) certificate is advantageous but not a requirement.
- Good knowledge of animal needs and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Attention to detail, sense of responsibility, and a strong interest in animal well-being.
- Good proficiency in both English and Swedish.
