The position is distributed across three primary schools where you work three days a week at Östra Stenhagenskolan, which is your main workplace and where your nearest manager, a trained psychologist, is located, as well as one day each at Uppsävjaskolan and Funbo skola. All schools are located approximately 6-10 kilometers from central Uppsala and have good bus connections. During holiday periods, there is an opportunity to work from home on administrative tasks in consultation with the manager.

Östra Stenhagenskolan is a preschool to grade 6 school with approximately 470 students and 60 employees, where the focus is on academic goals, good relationships, and the students' overall development.

Uppsävjaskolan is a preschool to grade 5 school with around 325 students and 40 employees, where work is done in teams to create a safe environment and promote both academic and social development.

Description of Duties

As a school psychologist, you are part of the student health team at the schools and work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Student health is part of education, and as a school psychologist, you participate in the student health team's work to remove obstacles to learning and social development in collaboration with teaching staff. As a school psychologist, you are responsible for working health-promoting and preventive with all students by participating in the continuous development of the learning environment for students and contributing the psychological perspective to the student health team's overall work. As a school psychologist, the student-focused work is also important, and that students know you and your function at the school. The student-focused work includes conversations with students and possible observations, mapping of students' prerequisites based on cognitive and emotional strengths and obstacles. You conduct investigations of students regarding the question of intellectual disability as well as assessments of students prior to decisions on referral for further neuropsychiatric investigation or other mental health issues. The work also includes supervision and consultation for school staff, collaboration with various external actors and guardians. As a school psychologist, you are part of the professional network for the Education Administration's psychologists and participate in regular network meetings aimed at providing competence-building measures and following up on psychologists' health care interventions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. We would like you to have experience working as a school psychologist for younger ages, lower and middle school. Knowledge of neuropsychiatry and work to create accessible education is considered meritorious.

You are proactive and contribute actively to student health work by taking responsibility for identifying needs and initiating measures that promote students' development and well-being. You work independently and structure your work in a professional manner, while collaborating closely with school management, educators, students, and guardians.

You have good collaboration skills and work attentively and respectfully in interdisciplinary contexts. You are relationship-building and establish trusting contacts with students and adults, with high integrity and empathy. You communicate clearly and adapt your message to the recipient and situation, so that recommendations, assessments, and follow-ups are understandable and useful in the school's daily life.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
