Registered Psychologist for Adult Eating Disorders Unit – Akademiska Sjukhuset
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
We are looking for a registered psychologist for Akademiska Sjukhuset's eating disorder treatment for adults – an opportunity for you if you are interested in working with eating disorder care.
Our Operations
At Akademiska Sjukhuset, psychiatry is organized into five sections, including the Section for Affective Disorders. The section offers both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics, including the Eating Disorders Unit for Adults. On this unit, we provide treatment to patients with eating disorder issues who require care within specialized psychiatry.
Since December 2023, we have also been licensed to provide National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for patients with difficult-to-treat eating disorders.
Your Role
In your role as a psychologist, your working days will consist of varied and stimulating tasks at the clinic. This includes, among other things, conducting structured assessments of both eating disorders and any comorbidities, treatment with CBT-E (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders), internet-based treatment, group therapy, and follow-up consultations with patients who have undergone treatment with us.
The work is performed both in teams and independently, with supervision as needed, and there is an opportunity to work in both specialized care and highly specialized care.
Your Qualifications
You must be a registered psychologist with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Experience in treatment work within the field of eating disorders is advantageous.
Since a large part of the work is team-based, there are high demands on interaction with colleagues and other professions, making good collaboration skills and humility valuable personal traits. We consider it a given that you enjoy working together with others for the benefit of both patients and the organization. Familiarity with the Cosmic journal system is an asset. If you are a person interested in developing eating disorder care within psychiatry and working close to patients, you will thrive with us.
What We Offer
The position is a fixed-term employment for six months, starting on October 1st. We will offer a good introduction adapted to your needs.
As an employee, we offer a personal development and competence plan.
We view regular training as necessary both to maintain and develop your own competencies. With us, you receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).

Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.
Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime, but is solely a planning measure.
Before a decision on employment, checks of the suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric healthcare, habilitation, care for children and youth, or involuntary care for addicts, areas covered by optional register extracts. This therefore applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks currently are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
