The HR Department is part of the University Administration at Uppsala University and is located in Segerstedthuset, in modern and bright premises close to the Botanical Garden, Carolina Rediviva, and Uppsala Castle. The department consists of approximately 50 employees distributed across four units. Our overarching mission is to contribute to Uppsala University being an attractive employer. We provide support and advice on strategic and operational HR matters and represent the employer regarding employment policy and conditions. Here, you are offered varied work in a developing and stimulating environment characterized by engagement, high competence, innovation, and colleagues with strong digital maturity.

Responsibilities

In the role of HR Specialist, you offer qualified and consultative advice to managers within the University Administration on HR matters. You also serve as a support resource for operational HR generalists within the university's scientific disciplines.

You work broadly with HR issues and provide support in areas such as employment law, negotiations, workforce planning, wage formation, complex cases, transition and rehabilitation, as well as work environment and equal opportunities. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other HR colleagues, where you together leverage and develop the collective competence within the HR function.

By working both operationally and strategically, you contribute to creating a strong HR function that meets the needs of the business. The role also includes actively participating in various development projects within the framework of the HR Department's mission, with a focus on ensuring efficient processes and ways of working in close dialogue with the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree in HR, such as a Bachelor's or Master's in Personnel Management, or equivalent competence assessed by the employer, combined with several years of relevant professional experience.

You have several years of current experience in providing qualified advice and consultative support to managers on a wide range of HR issues. You are accustomed to working with complex cases and have experience in negotiations, transition, and work environment and equal opportunities in an operational context. Furthermore, you have excellent knowledge of employment legislation and long experience in applying this in practice. You feel confident leading training sessions and workshops.

You have excellent digital competence and maturity, and are a proficient user of relevant IT systems and tools. You are curious about how new technology, digital environments, and ways of working can be used to develop and strengthen HR work. You also have documented good skills in communicating and expressing yourself well, both orally and in writing, in both Swedish and English.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. To succeed in the role, you work proactively and independently, drive tasks forward, and adapt when conditions change. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner, with good analytical ability and a holistic perspective. You have excellent collaborative and relationship-building skills that create trust in meetings with managers and colleagues. Since the work involves handling complex personnel cases, it is important that you have high integrity, good judgment, and feel confident in your competence. You are happy to share your knowledge and actively contribute to collective learning and development.
